Two long poultry houses whose fans, lights and feed lines now run on their own roofs.
The brief
Ventilation and lighting run all year, so the farm wanted every daylight hour on the roof.
What we fitted
Seventy-five panels split across both south faces, a 30 kW three-phase inverter and a 20 kWh battery for the early-morning lights.
Twelve months on
27,000 kWh generated, two thirds of it used on the farm, and a payback forecast of just over six years.

In their words
The houses run fans and lights all day, so every kWh off the roof counts. The plate said 6.4 years; we are on track to beat it.
